Good Housekeeping teamed up with Car and Driver recently to choose the best new cars of 2016. The 2015 Audi A3 2.0T quattro S tronic was the judges’ choice in the Luxury Compact category. The two publications awarded the honor after testers at the Good Housekeeping Institute vetted the car.

The judges were excited by the car’s roomy interior, reporting that adults can sit comfortably in the back. They also liked the sleek styling and standard leather seats. And they gave the car points for its reasonable pricing even though A3 is a full-fledged luxury offering.

The coolest feature, the judges said, is the car’s great handling, including steering that adjusts seamlessly to higher speeds. They also praised the panoramic sunroof, Audi connect infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and dual-zone climate control.

The A3 has had notable success in crash tests and comes equipped with standard all-wheel quattro drive, which also pleased the judges.

The awards panel consisted of four experts: a technical editor, an engineering editor and a director from each of the two publications.
