What do you get when you combine head-turning looks with the latest hybrid technology?

For the all-new 2016 Lexus RX 450h, you get a green award the size of the Lone Star State. At the Texas Auto Roundup in Fort Worth this week, the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) named the Lexus RX 450h the “2016 Green Vehicle of Texas.”

“We are grateful to receive this award from such a respected group of auto writers. To win in Texas is a great honor for Lexus and the new RX,” said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager. “We know the mid-sized luxury SUV segment is extremely competitive, which is why the new RX is completely reimagined to reflect a product philosophy that is engaging to look at and dynamic to drive. The results speak for themselves.”

The 2016 RX 450h’s mix of sharp creases and curves represents a bold evolution in the model’s styling, sharing the same design DNA with other recently-launched models. As the best-selling model in the Lexus lineup, the RX, including the 450h, is packed with sophisticated safety features, driver aids and new convenience and technology features to make this one of the best Lexus luxury utility vehicle offerings to date.

A paragon of efficiency with plentiful power when needed, the completely reengineered 3.5-liter direct-injected V6 hybrid engine is an evolution of the base six-cylinder drivetrain, producing a combined system output of 308 horsepower and 30 combined mpg. The hybrid-powered drivetrain is the latest, most advanced iteration of the Lexus Hybrid Drive system. Its key components and control systems have been enhanced and reengineered to deliver impressive fuel economy, low emissions and excellent on-road performance that will satisfy the most demanding driving enthusiast.
