The Smallest Cars in the World

Tiny cars are not among the most popular, but they have clearly found their niche in big overcrowded cities. They are highly economical and easy to park.

Let’s see what cars currently available for purchase are the smallest.

MINI Hardtop 2 Door

MINI Coopers may look really small, but they are not the smallest (and cheapest). Actually, they’ve hardly made it to the top. However, they are very stylish; the main reason they have so many fans is not the compactness, but their fantastic design.

Tiny Japanese electric car with a rather high price. American sales launched in December 2011. The US-only version is enlarged and includes more features than the Japanese and European versions in order to meet crash standards, government mandates, and the preferences of the American consumers. In Japan, its length not exceeds 133.7 inches.

Renault Twingo

Renault cars are not available in the US, but they are highly popular in Europe. The Twingo model is known for 24 years as one of the smallest representatives of A-class.

Copen marque belongs to Daihatsu, the Japanese company that has not become popular in the US. The marque offers small sporty cars in the vein of MINI in Japan.

Just like the Copen Cero, the Honda S660 is unbelievably small * and good-looking sporty car. It is available only in Japan; however, there are rumors that Honda may present it in the US due to overwhelming demand.

* Actually, there’s a whole category of vehicles called Kei cars (or K-cars) with length not exceeding 133.7 inches in Japan. They are designed to comply with Japanese government tax and insurance regulations. There are dozens of models of Kei cars.

Another Indian micro car that is indecently tiny for 4-passenger vehicle. And look at that funny price. It is hard to believe, isn’t it? Don’t rush to call it junk, because GenX Nano is designed by Tata Motors, the successful multinational company behind Jaguars and Land Rovers.

The long-living champion produced by Daimler AG. This car is famous for its unparalleled compactness and beautiful design. Renault tried to beat smart with Twizy, but subsequently made a vehicle that is legally classified in Europe as a heavy quadricycle.
