This year’s lineup of the Nissan JUKE consists of five models: S, SV, SL, NISMO, and NISMO RS. They are similar in many ways but not identical, of course. The first three differ only in standard features and styling while NISMO models have mechanical improvements as well.
The Best in Performance vs Price Ratio – Nissan JUKE S
Nearly every JUKE model except the NISMO RS has the same 1.6L Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) turbocharged 4-cylinder engine capable of providing 188 hp. That’s why the basic S model has the best performance vs price ratio. For $20,250, it offers the same power as the others. The only real disadvantage in comparison with higher trims is the absence of Integrated Control (I-CON) system with Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) that comes in SV trim.
The Best in Fuel Efficiency – Nissan JUKE NISMO
You may already know that NISMO stands for ‘Nissan Motorsport’. Surprisingly, it has the same engine as it is in S, SV, and SL trims making it not so ‘sporty’ for NISMO brand. However, it provides the exclusive aerodynamic body kit, NISMO-tuned suspension and power steering, 18″ aluminum-alloy wheels, and the Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection. Another benefit is the slightly better fuel efficiency – 28 City / 34 Highway MPG (the S, SV, and SL trims provide 28/32 MPG while the NISMO RS – 25/31 MPG).
The Best in Performance – Nissan JUKE NISMO RS
That’s the one that has exclusive NISMO-tuned engine with increased power (from 188 hp to 215 hp). JUKE’s current lineup won’t fulfill your desires if you prefer mighty V6, though; it is still the same 1.6L Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) turbocharged 4-cylinder engine.
The Best JUKE Ever Made – Nissan JUKE-R
Last year, Nissan showed the ultimate racing JUKE with a 3.8L turbocharged V6 engine taken from the Nissan GT-R which provides 600 hp and 481 lb-ft of torque. It is not available in the US but it is the best JUKE ever made so far.
