The 2016 Acura MDX and TLX have received 2016 Best Cars for the Money awards from U.S. News & World Report. The 2016 MDX was named the Best Luxury 3-Row SUV for the Money and the 2016 TLX earned the Best Upscale Midsize Car for the Money distinction.
The MDX, the best-selling 3-row luxury SUV of all time, has been lauded with the Best Cars for the Money award in the 3-Row SUV category for four consecutive years, while the TLX has received the Best Cars for the Money distinction for the second straight year, earning the honor in every year since the midsize luxury sedan was introduced to the market in 2014.
“Having our best-selling luxury SUV and performance sedan earn the Best Cars for the Money distinction in consecutive years demonstrates our ability to consistently provide our customers with outstanding performance, quality and reliability,” said Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of Acura.
The Best Cars for the Money methodology combines quality and value data into a composite score. Within each of the classes, the vehicle with the highest score is named the Best Car for the Money. Quality is measured by the overall score a vehicle achieved in the U.S. News car rankings at the time the awards are published. The rankings, updated regularly, compare cars on the basis of safety, reliability and a consensus of industry experts’ opinions. Value is measured by a combination of a vehicle’s five-year total cost of ownership provided by Vincentric, LLC and the average price paid for the vehicle at the time the awards are published, as calculated by TrueCar.com.
