Dodge Cars with Good Gas Mileage

Dodge cars are not especially fuel-efficient in general, but if you consider the class and body style of vehicle you will find them appropriate regarding the gas mileage. Let’s see what are the exact values for all Dodge cars from worst to best.

Dodge Viper SRT

The legendary Dodge Viper is a sports car (and rather powerful), so it is not meant to be fuel-effective. However, it is still not the worst one in this aspect among the competitors. The Lamborghini Aventador and the Ferrari F12 have Comb 13 MPG if you want a comparison.

Yet again, the Dodge Grand Caravan is not a fuel-effective type of vehicle, but if you compare it to the competitors, you won’t find any serious inconsistencies.

Dodge Journey

The Dodge Journey, featured in our The Most Affordable SUVs with 3rd-Row Seating and Best SUVs with 6-Cylinder Engine and 3rd-Row Seating lists, is pretty hungry on fuel. There are better SUVs concerning the fuel efficiency.

Dodge Durango

The Dodge Durango is a large SUV, tough and capable. Even so, it is slightly more economical on fuel than its younger brother Dodge Journey.

Dodge Challenger

The basic model of the Dodge Challenger with its 6 cyl, 3.6L engine opens the top-3 of Dodge cars with the best gas mileage. That’s because it’s lighter than SUVs and minivans, and not so extremely impetuous as the Dodge Viper.

While the Dodge Charger and the Dodge Challenger are mechanically identical, the former is rated slightly higher on a highway.

And here it is, the only Dodge car that can be claimed as a more or less fuel-efficient vehicle (for those running on gas). Such a pity it is unpopular enough to force the company to discontinue it for the next model year. This year’s model is still available for purchase, though.
