If you look at this tiny fellow on the road, you wouldn’t believe it has room for more than two people. Well, it has. The actual number of seats depends on the model we are talking about. There are FIAT 500, FIAT 500c, FIAT 500e, FIAT 500L, and FIAT 500X. Some of them have four seats, some of them have five seats. Let’s look closer.
Four-Seaters
The FIAT 500, as well as its convertible (FIAT 500c) and all-electric (FIAT 500e) versions, have only 4 seats: two in front and two smaller in the second row. FCA claims that there is ‘an amazingly roomy and capable cabin within this city-friendly vehicle’, but, in fact, it is not so amazingly roomy for backseat passengers. They simply are not suitable for adults. On the other hand, it would be strange to expect that from a car with the length of 139.6 inches and the width of 64.1 inches.

The interior dimensions of the FIAT 500 are as follows:
Front seats: head room – 38.9 inches, hip room – 47.9 inches, leg room – 40.7 inches, shoulder room – 49.4 inches.
Rear seats: head room – 35.6 inches, hip room – 42.6 inches, leg room – 31.7 inches, shoulder room – 46.4 inches.
As you can see, rear seats are way smaller than front seats, especially with regard to the hip room and leg room. It won’t satisfy even a tall teenager.

Five-Seaters
Two other models – the FIAT 500L subcompact car and the FIAT 500X subcompact crossover SUV – are capable of housing 5 persons. They have a lot more space for backseat passengers. They can fit adults. However, only two adults will feel really comfortable while seating in the second row (it works for three only if all of them are rather slender).
