Production of the first Ford Fusion began more than a decade ago, on August 1, 2005. Positioned between the compact Ford Focus and the full-size Ford Taurus, this sedan is a golden mean of Ford’s sedans.

The most extreme trim for this year’s Ford Fusion is called Titanium. Aside from the conventional model, this trim is also available for Hybrid and Energi models of the sedan. The MSRP starts at $30,780 for the Ford Fusion Titanium, at $30,940 for the Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium, and at $35,730 for the Ford Fusion Energi Titanium.

The new Ford Fusion goes on sale this summer, including the extremely rakish Fusion Sport version with V6 and all-wheel-drive, as well as new Hybrid and Energi models. The most luxurious trim will be called Platinum.
“Fusion offers people a lot more car – including helpful technology, beautiful design, and a more rewarding driving experience than other midsize sedans,” said Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president and chief technical officer, Global Product Development, during the car’s presentation at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
