Daewoo Roots
The Chevrolet Spark was firstly known under the name Daewoo Matiz. It was launched by Daewoo Motors in 1998, and with General Motors’ rising involvement in its South Korean division, the car’s badge changed to Chevrolet in most markets. There are many other assembly sites around the world (including some past and present production capacities in Taiwan, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Poland, Romania, and Colombia) though the American market receives only the Korean-made version.
