Whether you like it or not, there is a very little choice among retro-style off-road SUVs. Practically, the Jeep Wrangler is one of the last and most celebrated.
2016 Jeep Wrangler
Currently, the Jeep Wrangler is sold in two different incarnations: classic 2-door model (the last-remaining 2-door SUV in the US!) and much longer 4-door model (which is called Unlimited), both convertible.
The MSRP starts at $23,895 for the Jeep Wrangler and at $27,695 for the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. In addition, Jeep offers a dozen of versions with different features and styling for both models: Sport, Sport S, Willys Wheeler, Black Bear, Freedom Edition, Sahara, Rubicon, 75th Anniversary Limited Edition, Backcountry Limited Edition, and Rubicon Hard Rock Limited Edition.
Jeep Wrangler’s Generations
Since it formal announcement in February 1986, the Jeep Wrangler have survived three major generations ‘code-named’ as follows: YJ (1986-1995), TJ (1996-2006), and JK (2007-present). The exterior design which resembles the cult classic Jeep CJ-7 was unchanged all these years.
Jeep Wrangler’s Future
As it appears, Jeep Wrangler will continue its fight for the customer where others have given up already. There is also a strong belief that a Jeep Wrangler Pickup is coming into production next year, so there will be even more to choose.
